Uruguay, the Second Country with Better Bandwidth in Latin America

Uruguay is ranked second in Latin America in data download speeds, according to Ookla, a company dedicated to take this measurement and other diagnostic services of the Internet.

With an average of 7.35 megabytes per second, from August to November, the country moved 70 positions worldwide (was number 135 and rose to number 65) and 11 in Latin America (from 13th to 2nd).

In the region, Chile remains the leader with 8.87 megabytes per second, Brazil comes third (6.62) and then: Mexico (6.90), Puerto Rico (4.45), Argentina (4.15), Panama (3.96), Ecuador (3.71), Colombia (3.41) and El Salvador (3.08). The countries with less speed are Venezuela (1.85) and Bolivia (1.3), according to the site Prensario.net.

Hong Kong has the highest download bandwidth speed on the planet with an average of 41.08 megabytes per second.

According to Antel, this major change is due to the fiber optic project for all homes across the country, which to date has reached 183,000.
